A Langkawi eatery recently made headlines after a client complained their plain water prices.
Following the outcry, the restaurant finally explained what transpired on the ‘LANGKAWI HARI INI (LHI)’ Facebook page.
Following the story, the restaurant in question uploaded the receipt of the event in a post, saying it was a mistake made by one of its employees.
“We’d like to apologize to the customer because one of our employees made a mistake when calculating the bill.” We aim to contact the consumer and refund the additional price.” It read.
Allegedly, they said that the employee had charged improperly for a cup of Nescafe and had failed to modify the pricing to reflect what was ordered.
Along with the post, they included multiple receipts from other customers to demonstrate that they rightfully did charge RM1 for plain water.
“The incident occurred during breakfast, and because it is something we have only recently begun, we have a lot of new staff.” “We sincerely apologize for the error; the system is still new to the staff, which explains the error,“ they said.
According to the eatery, they’ve been open since 2015, and the rate for plain water has always been RM1.
Finally, they mentioned, “We thank you for your understanding and sincerely apologize for our error.” Thank you to everyone who provided comments; we strive to enhance our service.”
